Acts 1:4-5
"In one of these meetings as he was eating a meal with them, he told them, "Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you what he promised. Remember, I have told you about this before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

Gathering- synalizō (to gather together, assemble)

He commanded- paraggellō (to transmit a message along from one to another, to declare, announce)

them not to leave- chōrizō (to separate, divide, part, put asunder, to separate one's self from, to depart)

Jeruselum,- Hierosolyma (denotes either the city itself or the inhabitants)

but to wait- perimenō (to wait for)

for what the Father- patēr (generator or male ancestor)

had promised- epaggelia (announcement)

"Which,"- hos (who, which, what, that)

He said, "you heard- akouō (to be endowed with the faculty of hearing, not deaf)

for John- Iōannēs (John the Baptist was the son of Zacharias and Elisabeth, the forerunner of Christ. By order of Herod Antipas he was cast into prison and afterwards beheaded.)

baptized- baptizō (to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk))

with water,- hydōr (water)

but you will be baptized- baptizō (to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk))

with the Holy- hagios (most holy thing, a saint)

Spirit- pneuma (the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son)

not many- polys (many, much, large)

days - hēmera (the day, used of the natural day, or the interval between sunrise and sunset, as distinguished from and contrasted with the night)

from now - meta (with, after, behind)

^- houtos (this, these, etc.)



Acts 7:59-60

"And as they stoned him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."And he fell to his knees, shouting, "Lord, don't charge them with this sin!" And with that, he died."

They went- lithoboleō (to kill by stoning, to stone)
